Default heater core problems

Ok im driving down the road and i hear a pop sound and then a small amout of hissing, 1 second after that antifreez is literaly pooring in my passengers side floor..... obviously my heater core... my question is to you guys is if there are any type of rubber heater hoses that run from behind my firewall into the core that could have possibly poped or am i stuck replacing the whole core?.

either way tearing down my dash is going to suck.

Engine coolant after time becomes corrosive and degrades and internally rusts metals, this is why there are service intervals that must be done. You likely have an internally rusted core and will likely need to be replaced. I would replace it anyways while you have the dash apart that is booked out for 8hrs Labor(prob take you much longer since your not an everyday mechanic)
You can bypass the heater core so you can drive. Take the hoses off that go through the firewall and tie them together with a fitting. You'll have no heat, but it'll get you through till you get the parts and time you need without any more coolant spilling out.
