I have a 2005 ram v6 and an after market radio installed by bestbuy. About 5 years no problems then about a month ago i turned right and the radio quit. I have checked and replaced fuses and nothing. I lived with this until the other night i was looking for something in my truck and turned my dome light on and poof the radio comes on. I turn my headlights or dome light off and it goes back off.. hence headlights and dome lights = radio works....either turned off means radio off. Then the next day i get in to go to work and the battery is dead. Don't know if it is related but i bought a new battery (mine tested bad) and i am not turning on the radio again until i find the problem. I have checked the IOD fuse and it tested good. Any help will be appreciated.

 

Pull it back out and check all your wires ie connections and insulation.

 

Welcome to the site. If it were me I would be pulling the head unit out and check to see what wires they are pulling constant and switched 12v for to feed the HU.
