I swapped my HEMI into a 97. I swapped the dash out of the same truck so my wiring was minimal and only extended to the lights and pwr windows/ locks. I did a lot of cutting on my firewall. Since I used the same dash and controls as the truck came from the factory I don't for see any issues with cruise or with my A/C. Is the 02 you bought a Gen 3 half ton??? if it is the Dash and PDC should be the same. If you have a stock HEMI wiring harness it should plug right in. If it doesn't then I am as lost as you my friend.

I have 2 transmissions for sale one with 120K and one with about 132K Miles .They are both 45rfe automatics. I'll take $500.00 for either one..I also have a $hit load of wire harnesses for motor swaps left and computers..ECM and TCM, and PDCs..I'm also parting out the 2001 Dakota Quad Cab..

I havent started it yet, i do have the engine and trans sitting in storage, along with all the wiring i believe I will need to do it.

Would it not be better for me to just bolt the hemi to my current transmission (since they do share the same bolt pattern from what I read) and be done. Mine has 3k miles on its rebuild and really was still fine at 189k miles (piece in the VB broke causing it to lose all gears, not one clutch was bad, but it did need a kickdown band.)

This way I avoid the dreaded issue with my transfer case.

Yes ~ If you're removing a 4.7 You shouldn't have a problem . But a 318 or 360 transmission won't bolt to a Hemi . I searched this thread to find you're engine size , but couldn't..I did notice you're truck is a 4x4 , so the transmissions I offered won't work for you anyway..

Mines a 360 truck, so Im screwed there.

really starting to think about selling the engine and trans and doing a new engine for mine and being happy with it. No real reason to swap the engine out as since I fixed the transmission it runs great and drives great.

First thing is to put some 4.10's in it so it can move around a bit better with these 305/70/17's on it.
