Default Sway Bar for 04 2500 Quad Cab

I have a Lance 850 camper and have added the firestone air ride system for the back. However I still get quite a bit of rocking now and then. I'm assuming I have enough air in the bags since the truck is higher in the back than front (just like without a load and 3lbs of air in the bags). So I'm wondering if adding a sway bar will help. If so it would have to clear the Mag Tech rear end cover.

Just called Helwig and they said theirs will fit my truck with the Mag-tech cover. The Helwig part number is 7651 and is made for 3.5" axles the 7658 is for 4" axles.

Do you have a weight distribution hitch? That will help the sway as well. Airbags aren't enough by themselves, but Yes a swaybar would def help also.

I just looked up a distribution hitch and it looks like more for towing and not for a camper in the bed. Anyway I did order the sway bar and should have it in a few days. I'll let you all know what I think when I get a chance to use it.

I don't think a weight distribution hitch would help much, as the camper fits in the bed, I'm looking into a Palamino right now myself. Sounds like the Helwig would work great, just don't link it up so tight that it locks the diff down so tight, the camper shakes apart.

Good Luck, let us know what you find out
