Well...I have the Mopar CAI...which is very similar to the AEM brute force (i think the only difference is the powercoating on the mopar one and being painted on the AEM one)

...anywayz....YES...mine was very loud without the exhaust..now its VERY loud.

the other day i put the AEM brute force intake on my 05 qc 2500 hemi and i took it for a ride then immediately can home and put the stick one back on and sold it to someone on this forum..... FORGET THAT THING.. SOUNDS LIKE CRAP..... now take into consideration that i am an avid drag racer and adreanaline junkie... i have drag cars race street bikes and work on an open wheel modified..... i am a gear head.... this intake SUX it sounds like crap and i like my vehicles loud.... i was so dissapointed bc i heard nothing but good things about them.... but the growl from the throttle body and engine sounds crappy....

Loose Nut, your not the only one I too put a AEM Brute force intake on my 2003 1500 hemi. And drove it for a couple of days to try and get used to it but it sounded like crap, not a good loud sound. Then I put the stock intake back on,and returned it. I think the truck also lost low end powerwith the AEM on. These trucks need to be regulated for the increase in air flow. And I'm not screwind with that!!

im on my third day of having it installed....it seems to have toned down a tad, i dunno if i like it or not, how ever i have noticed a good deal of power gains from it.

Just because you think yourself to be an avid racer doesnt mean that the intake sounds like crap to everyone else and/or should. Now like I said...i dont have the AEM one...but the Mopar CAI w/ TBS and i like it....

if you want my background basis for my opinion...before my 05 Ram....I had an 04 Cobra as a daily driver with 520rwhp...and i currently still have a 2002 Z06 with 575rwhp. Obviously the Hemi engine in a pickup truck has a different tone than a high hp sports car...but I still liked the growl from under the hood of the Hemi with this similar intake. Keep in mind...adding an exhaust helps the tone alot as well as the power....and also...if anyone plans on exhaust upgrades in the future...a CAI is the starting point...

so you say..."IT SOUND LIKE CRAP"......but I say it sounds healthy and provides some nice midrange power.
