Default Temp Resistor Mod

Wanted to know if the $7 temp resistor on Ebay was worth it. Claim is that it tells the computer that the air it is taking in is 32-36F, thus changing the mixture. Does it work? Will it hurt the motor? Any thoughts on this would be greatly appreciated!

I'm not sure it works.

The PCM is calibrated for optimal A/F mixture at a given temperature. By telling the PCM to enrich the mixture, cold air temp, you're running the chance of not burning all the fuel, because there isn't enough available oxygen at the actual air temp. This will be seen in the exhaust by the O2 sensors as too rich and the PCM will compensate. It all comes down to whether the fuel is actually being burned, and adding more fuel to warmer, less dense air, you're not doing a thing but wasting fuel and losing power.

Don't buy it. If you really want to get it, go buy a .02 resistor at Radio Shack or something. Just be forewarned that it is NOT a good idea.
