ABS/Brake like issues
I have an '03 1500 quad cab with a 5.7, and my truck is intermittently giving me the ABS/Brake light error, occasionally hesitating when the light comes on. This all started after I changed the left hub, doing this very rarely in the begining and quite often as of late. I rechecked both the front ABS sensors, checking for cuts in the wire and making sure the tone wheel wasn't dirty...all was good. This happened to me last year, and it ended up being the rear speed sensor which I replaced at that time. So it's a relatively new sensor in the back. Checking everything that I thought it could be, I took it to a local mechanic who tried to diagnose it for me. $200 later he's telling me it's the ABS controller. He checked the wiring, and tells me everything was good up to it. The mechanic said his initial code check came back with interitent signal codes were coming from all sensors, but after he cleared the codes only the front sensors threw codes again. His diagnostic computer was showing that the ABS sensors were giving speed reading the whole time, even when the ABS light would kick on and off. So, I get an ABS controller (just changed the electronic portion as was suggested) from the junk yard and it's still doing what it was before. I changed the whole drivers side hub out again since it was on warranty, still doing it. I'm considering changing out the rear speed sensor, but don't have much hope for that since it wasn't throwing codes. Anyone have some suggestions?
