Default power steering cooler leak

my power steering cooler on my 2004 1500 is leaking and dripping on the passenger side frame. I bought a universal one, but the tube size was 3/8 inch. the tube size on my truck is 5/8 inch. I can't find a listing anywhere online. anyone out there have a part number or know where to buy one, this seems to be a common problem and I'm surprised that the online parts stores don't list them.

I bought mine from the dealer. I think it was around 115 dollars.

So was I, but after a quick look else where, the dealer was the only place that had a direct replacement.

And now all you have to do is take out the two bolts and disconnect the two lines. A lot easier than tying to make some aftermarket one work.

Rock Auto doesn't have a listing for the cooler.

What is the best or easiest way to bleed the air from the power steering system after changing the cooler. I'm thinking I'll just work the steering wheel back and forth a few times.

Yes just go back and forth. I even jacked up the front end so the front wheels were off the ground so there was less wear and tear on my steering components. You may have to go back and forth a few times. Also check you PS level a few times.

Mine has been leaking for well over a year now. The cardboard I on the ground under the truck is now saturated with Transmission fluid gushing out of the power steering cooler. It leaks so fast now that I finally need to take care of it...filling it won't even last a week now.

I bought a "universal" kit in the past that was entirely too small and would need to drill into the frame.

I just called a couple local Dodge dealers and they have them in stock. I find it amazing that prices are not standardized though. Three dealers told me $100, another $125, another $120.

Going to drop the dog off to get groomed...stop by one of the $100 dealers...pick up the dog from the groomer...change the PS cooler....have a beer. Tomorrow, Jaguar brakes.
