08 hemi qc rpms drop off out of no where
Alright I had a problem a couple weeks ago with electronic throttle control light coming on and the truck would just shut off than I'd turn the key to the off position and start it again and it would be fine. I took the TB apart and cleaned it with TB cleaner and it seemed to work. Now the RPMS are just falling off to 0 and than kicking back in and sometimes it will shut off other times it goes back to that annoying red light (electronic throttle control). The engine malfunction light came on and coded a list longer than my arm but when I started it up again and started driving home the light turned off and the codes were gone. Anyone got any ideas what could be causing this. Its pretty scarry when it happens because it shuts down on the freeway and makes me think what if it happens and the person behind me ends up plowing into me.
That's very scary, I don't know what your first problem could be but from what I've read its better to use brake cleaner or carb cleaner on your TB. For some reason TB interrupts the TB sensor. Ask HammerZ71, DirtyDog or Weedahoe, they are very knowledgeable about our vehicles and are always willing to help.
I don't think its the TB cleaner. Because I was told to use a cleaner that didn't have chlorine in it. The TB cleaner I used contained no chlorine I'm more concerned with the falling rpms more than anything
