Default Air Conditioning 04 Ram - Problems

I have been slowly fixing my truck over the past year or so, and now im tackling the worst problem,

The air conditioning.

So this is what happens.

I turn on cold air and put the A/C on, and after about 5 minutes of driving around with the air on, all i get is hot air.

I thought it was the ac compressor failing but i got that checked out and it is operational.

I dont know what else could be the problem.?

Ideas?

Default try this

Go to a shop have them check it all out they should do it free just the check then come back and tell me what they said. If they can fix at a good price do it.

If it has good steady pressure then I would say it’s your dryer receiver they should be changed out every 4 or 5 years

Have you tried just pumping some freon into it?

Did you check to see that the condenser fan is running when the compressor is running? Its the fan behind the little radiator on the drivers side. If its not running when the system is energized, there's the problem. Common problem

Make sure you test to see how many pounds of freon are in the system. If there is no freon in the system then obviously you have a leak somewhere. Overfilling with Freon=Bad Problems
