Default Still overheating! Question..

2007 Dodge Ram 1500 SLT

I've changed out my t-stat twice now, and it helps for about two to three weeks, but then it starts to overheat again. I noticed that my water pump is leaking water/coolant when parked, so I'm thinking that may have something to do with it as well. When I drive going up a mountain or up a four-lane road, it starts to get hot again. And when I take turns after coming to a stop, I can hear water sloshing back and forth (sounds like it's coming from behind the center of the dashboard.

Also, the hoses running from the radiator are hot, and the radiator itself is also hot all over (no cold spots).

Anything else I can try before I take it to the shop? Anyone know what may cause the water sloshing?

Thanks guys!

If your water pump is leaking then it need to be changed. Make sure you got all of the air out of your system by bleeding it. The sloshing noise behind the dash sounds like the heater core no flowing properly. Does your heater work? You might want to flush your system real good and put all new coolant in it to make sure you dont have any restrictions.

Theonlynick,

I agree with the above poster. The water pump should never be leaking and if it is, then it needs to be replaced. If the pump is bad it is not pumping enough fluid through the system sounds like to me. It needs to be checked out by your mechanic asap.

Absolutely, classic sign right there, replace the pump and bye bye overheating. The Dodges have a lot of room in the engine bay and mkes it nice cause you don't have to remove the radiator to change it.

Thanks, fellas. How long does it take to replace the pump? Is it difficult? Also, how about flushing the heater core? I turned it on, and it still spits out crazy hot air.
