pics of 02'/2500 front speed sensor
Hi,
I had to replace my 2 front speed sensors on my truck. symptom: almost to a stop and the peddle goes to the floor. 1 pic is the sensor installed. 1 pic is of the hole where the sensor is removed from. NOTE the teeth in the bottom of the hole. I was told this should be perfectly clean. I used Qtips to remove all grease from every peak/valley in the teeth in this area. The bearings have their own grease. All is working fine with my brakes now. Roughly $110 for the 2 front sensors. The rear was around $40 -- it is installed in the top of the differential. The rear is simple to remove/replace. The fronts, you need to pull the rotors/calipers/caliper frame. I left my brakes installed in the caliper and simply removed the entire caliper with the 2 star headed bolts. When I first had to remove them, it was a sum bitch to remove. I put on copper anti-sieze on the threads and they come out much easier now. 1st time a 3/4" braker bar and chisel hitting bolt head. After the anti-sieze, I use a 3/8" ratchet.

We are 3rd gen (02's), but it's a crossover for us. A lot of the major components of the 02 are the same as the 2nd gen. Which is why if you need help with the engine or tranny it's good to check out the 2nd gen page
