Odd "bouncy" cold idle.
Hey guys. This issue isn't huge, but I figured I'd stop by and make sure I'm not missing something. I have a 2003 1500, with a 4.7.
When the engine is cold, the truck starts and runs just fine. However, if I shift from a gear to neutral or park (so going from reverse to park or neutral, or from Drive to neutral), I get an almost "bouncy" idle. Sometimes this manifests worse than other times, but typically it seems to bounce between 500 and 1200 RPM. My assumption is the idle air control valve or plugs. I'll pick up some plugs tonight and take the throttle body off for cleaning. Any other ideas?
If it makes any difference, I've notice in gear that the throttle doesn't have any finesse. Backing up to a trailer involves a lot of gas and breaks, almost like the throttle is sticking slightly. Same if I just tap the gas in park. I can see the RPMs rise and fall slightly, but it happens in steps, not a smooth arc.
Thanks.

This has been an on-going issue, so not just a tank of bad gas.
The issue still persists. It's not really that big of a deal, it'd just be nice to have a little more control of the throttle. Here is what I did:
Replaced spark plugs. Champion coppers as recommended, and gaped to .40 as the book says.
Removed throttle body and thoroughly cleaned it. Also remove idle air control motor, made sure that was good and clean.
Cleaned PCV valve. Didn't get a new one, but cleaned the old one and it rattles nicely.
I planned to clean the MAF sensor, but turns out I don't have one on this truck.
One additional detail, just yesterday before I started this work, I got the check engine light. The code was for the evap system. I did just get gas, so I assumed it was the gas cap. If it is not just the cap, is it possible something with the evap system could produce an unsteady idle?
