I'm a super lurker but I can't find what I'm looking for so I decided to post. First of all I upgraded from a '05 Dakota to a '08 Hemi Ram QC 4X4 a few months ago and graduated into the 3rd gen forum.

The new truck has a stock radio but it is installed within a Navi Bezel with no filler so it looks pretty Hoosier right now with the gap around the radio but anyway. I have sirius and it works but I don't like that I can't see what station I'm on etc like in my Dad's 4th Gen. I understand the first thing everyone is going to say is to buy an AVIC but I don't have that kind of money since I just had to get new tires and therefore "HAD" to get Bilstein leveling struts too. Finally to my question...can I direct plug and play a 4th gen stock head unit into my truck without modification? The only reason I ask is because I think I can get one for super cheap (I just saw one go on ebay for 5 dollars). Thanks in advance.

 

It will physically bolt in and plug in, you just need to make sure you have the right bus speed unit and might need the lockpick module to make everything work.
