Rims and weight limitations
Hey, im just waiting for my new rims to arrive. And i realized i never considered possible weight limiations on them. I do carry a fair bit of weight in my box as i run a roofing company and often am hauling shingles.
Im purchasing KMC XD Series Addicts, 17x9. The contact info seems to be missing from KMC's page and i dont see anything related to weight.

Anyone have any idea if i should be worried at all with these rims and hauling? I havent paid for them yet as they dont arrive until wednesday, just one last consideration that has come to mind. Any input is appreciated, thanks

A lot of "bling" wheel manufacturers do not list weight limitations or even test and/or reveal that information. I can't find weight specs on their website or anyplace that sells them for that matter.
Call 'em up.
But with a 1500, I would imagine they would exceed the listed capacity of the truck. Now if I had a 2500, I'd worry...
Interesting thing here is, I grew up in NY. My old man taught me the infamous "non-fouler trick", omitted the cats and added Cherry Bomb Glasspacks on the first muscle car I ever had there and the thing passed emissions every year I had it, LOL...

Haha really? Im surprised that would pass emissions, good stuff. I've heard that the KMC rims are good quality, but im worried about havin 1500+lbs in the box and havin them fold on me.
So i'd love to call em but they dont even have a phone number or email on their contact us page?? Odd isnt it, going to call the distributor im going through this afternoon.

If you can't find out the weight limit and you are worried about it, the Mickey Thompson and Dick Cepek wheels offer among the highest strength to weight ratio out there. Not quite the bling factor, but not bad looking either.
Then of course there is the old off-roader standby, the steelie Soft 8s. A wheel that's made to take a beating and down-right cheap...
