2007 1500 SLT QC 4x4 rear end pop/clunk
The title basically says it all. Also searched for this topic & couldn't find my exact problem.
2007 1500 QC-SLT 4x4, 70,00 miles on it. Whenever I make a turn, right or left, in 2wd or 4wd, I hear a "pop" or "clunk" coming from the rear of the truck, & you can feel the rear end shift around at the same time. I've checked the axle, u-joints & everything else I can reach from the ground, everything seems good.
I just want to find out what it is before it "pops" one final time & is expensive to fix..
Anyone heard of this before???
Thanks,

Sounds like your LSD is catching (for the lack of a better term).
Did you change your diff fluid lately? Sounds like you have an LSD and you are either low on fluid (BAD) or if you have had it serviced lately, the fluid doesn't have the LSD additive, or at least not enough.
#1 diffs are supposed to be serviced every 30k miles. if you haven't done this you need to. Search the how to section and read up. it's easy and good preventative maintenance
#2 if you have changed the fluid, check the levels. Should be just below the fill hole @ the correct capacity.
#3. if the first two check out. pick up a bottle of the LSD additive and add some in 1-2 oz at a time, go to a parking lot and do some figure 8's and see if it is still popping. if it is add some more LSD Additive and check again (don't add more than 4oz this is the specified amount to use)
Don't just skip to #3 it could be a bigger issue that could result in bigger probles if you don't fully investigate.
best of luck
