I do have rust on left rear panel (wheel well) because of cheap crappy body job repaired it after an accident with previous owner.

Needless to say, I was stupid and bought it without asking for a car fax. My truck spent whole life in CT where the salts really gets heavily on the road at times. I know that rust is common on all types of pick up truck.

Inner door seams are chronic as well. Prior to winter, i sand down the door seams, primer and paint. On the 2500 rams, lower rocker panels get sand blasted with oem rubber kicking up rocks.

Duplicolor makes excellant patriot blue touch up paint. My truck is never going to be new again, how ever, I go nuts with the spray cans to cover up the rock chips.

I may try out a rool opn bed liner on the lower quater panels, and than paint over to mathch the rust of may truck!

I wonder if using asphault coating would prevent the rust in the rear wheel wells

Default the rusties dodge

My 2004 dodge Durango is so rusty around the wheel wells that I believe there should be a recall on all dodge vehicles with this problem, which is all of them. Water must just sit there plus run down the seam and soak my seat belt when it rains. Rust, Rust and more rust. I tried to stop it with a good sanding to the metal and then repainted. Still rust forms. I wish they would take ownership of the problem so that I might buy another. So I will just drive this hunk of rust til it fails. hmm.
