New Member with 4wd question before I take delivery
Hello all-
New member and Just purchased a 2005 1500 Regular cab 36,030 miles excellent shape. It has the lever shift 4wd on the floor. I noticed when I was checking out the truck the 4wd light did not come on, some googling led me here and from what I gather it could be the switch. The dealer still has the truck and is prepping it fo a tuesday delivery. I live in a different state 100 miles from them and they are bringing to my location, I wrote up the 4wd light for them to look into. My question is did I not give the transfer case time to illuminate the light? In other words I shifted into 4 wheel light didnt come on I didnt move the vehicle so does the truck need a few miles per hour to engage the 4wd completly? or should I adk them to check the switch? Thanks for the help

Mine does too most of the time, but not always. I'd mention it to the dealer and any other possible things you may find. Better to have them check a bunch of stuff and have them cleared than finding a problem after you get it home...
Not bad for 15,999$ huh?
Love my 2004, ride not bad (did replace the shocks with Rancho 5000s, slightly stiffer). I do have rust at the bottom seam of the tailgate, even though I have a cover. My only wish is that it had locking front hubs. Since it appears that the dealer is accomadating, get proof that the 30,000 mile service has been completed. Dealers have been know to charge over a grand and Chrysler has been known to deny warranty coverage if you can not prove it was done.
