What are my bluetooth options?
Hey everyone...
I've had my 06 a little over a year now, and they have enacted the distracted driving laws in Alberta so I need to do something about a hands free unit in my truck. If I'm driving to/from work on an on-call call out, I often will get calls with updates along the way, or hopefully a call stating they have sorted it out, go home...
Anyhow, I've been looking at the bluetooth handsfree units for a while now, and I'm wondering what everyone here uses. I'm interested in a speaker phone that works... I'd prefer hardwire instead of battery as our winters are very hard on them. I had a blue-ant unit about 5 years ago and the battery wouldn't last overnight in the truck...
Anyhow, what are everyone's thoughts?

So, I tried the blue tooth in the Magellan, and it just wasn't that useful. The damned thing would disconnect/reconnect every 2-5 minutes, driving me insane.
I bought a BlueAnt S4 and it seems to work very well! Sound is excellent, and the other person can hear me clearly. I have it mounted on my visor so it's out of the way. It can be completely handsfree, or single touch so it meets the Alberta DDL requirements.
Highly recomended.
