4x4 light
my 99 ram is a shift from the floor 4x4...are you talking about the electrical switch on the driver side of the transfer case? also let me say my light wasnt working and then i just put another t-case in because my other one was leaking and making a grinding noise. the one i put on was a used one that already had the switches and the light still doesnt work, so whats the odds the old one was bad and the one on the used t-case is bad also?thanks for your help

I just got around to changing the switch out and it solved my problem. Thanks guys!
As to all you other guys with similar problem, all I did was went to the dealership, told them my problem, and that I had read it was probably the t-case switch. They took my VIN number so they knew which t-case I had, and ordered the switch. Like others have said, about 30 bucks, crawled under the truck, 5 minutes and it was done, and working.
Thanks all, and good luck to the others

I'm sorry to hear about your issue. When did the issue first appear? Is the transfer case engaging 4x4, even though the light is not accurate?
