Default 2WD Leveling Kit

If anyone has any info on a leveling kit for my 07 2WD, please let me know. I want to level it and put some 33'' Nitto Trail Grapplers on it. I'm not sure if i wanna go with the Ready Lift 2.25" kit or just go with some 2" spacers. I also read about a 3" coil spring in the front and putting a 1" block in the rear to level it out with giving it some extra room. Please let me know if you have tried any of these and what the results are. I would like to keep my factory ride.

With a 4x2 you can get away with a little more "budget lift" than 4x4 guys with CV axles so 3" is ok, although you will wear components out a bit faster than when at stock height. Larger tires (especially when on bigger, heavier wheels) will also do in steering components and hubs sooner.

As a rule, if your not going big bucks with a true suspension lift, then the higher you go, the more you change factory handling characteristics. Simple 2-2.25" spacers will be fine and level you out, spindles would work as well. Nothing wrong with the 3" spring, 1" block setup also. Another option would be a level kit of about 2" and a 3" body lift, yielding about 5" up front and keeping the ride level. Cost isn't too bad at about $100 for the level and about $350 for the body lift. The advantage of this setup is obviously the extra height but also because you are only mildly lifting the suspension, you won't put as much wear on front end components. About the only negative with a level/body lift combo is you'll get some body lean on tight turns at speed simply because you've raised the center of gravity 5" as opposed to 2 or 3"...

how bad will the 2" spacers mess up the steering? I'm leaning more towards those because they are cheaper and that's all i would have to buy.

Won't "mess up" the steering at all, might notice it handles a little differently, but minor. However you probably WILL need longer shocks up front...

i read on another thread that with the 2" spacers, the stock shocks are the best thing to go with. but anything higher than 2" needs new shocks

Stock shocks are never the best thing. Period.
