Default Leather Seats

My '05 Ram has the Laramie package with the leather seats. I love 'em, but I was thinking, what happens if I get caught in the rain and have to get in soaking wet or something?[sm=massbounce.gif](random smiley just cause I thought it looked neat) This is my first vehicle with leather seats, so my question is, how do you guys take care of them, waterproofing, conditioning, etc. Suggestions?

I have leather also but only a very small amount is actually leather...mostly vinyl. The entire back seat is vinyl except for the suade inserts.

Huh...well if thats the case, the material of my back seat looks the same to me as the front seat. So does that mean my front seat is vinyl with the suede inserts? They are described as "Leather Trimmed" seats, guess thats what they mean....

You do have some leather on the front seats and I think the suede is real...not sure about that. I upgraded mine to real leather from ALI. Got the covers on Ebay for 565.00 shipped. If you don't like the vinyl, this is a great choice...and it's all leather. They look better than the factory covers and the real leather smell is overwelming.

Lots of responses, but no answers to your questions.

Use a GOOD leather conditioner, don't scrimp. Meguair's makes good stuff, but you can get professional grade conditioners from your local detailer supply store.

For a quickie, I use the wipes from Meguairs.

If you get your leather wet, just let it dry and recondition - it won't hurt it. THe only way you're gonna hurt that leather is to let it dry out and crack, or tear it. It's very durable - just take care of it.
