Default my transmission woes

i have posted before about my transmission problems. It would grind going into reverse. i have taken it in 7 times since i bought it new in 2007. i took it in on Tuesday because now it was acting like i had a 3000 rpm stall converter in. it would rev up to about 3k before taking off from a stop.

took it to the dealership and could not find anything wrong, no codes and all that.......

they talked me into a $100, 60K mile service on the trans, basically changing the fluid and filter. once they got int there, they found a LOT of metal shavings in the pan. the thing was also 2.5 quarts low on fluid. i check the fluids regularly so that really worried me. they got to looking and found some sort of bearing just kinda hangin out in the transmission.....they determined it was that way from the factory. they were going to look into ordering parts to fix it.

my wife called the Ram Line to argue that they should cover the rental fully since the transmission was so farkled and it was that way since new....by the time she was done with them, they are promising AT LEAST a factory rebuilt, possibly brand new. they won't even let the dealership repair my crappy trans.(truck is in her name, gimme a break, they had to talk to her) the lady she talked to saw all 7 instances i took the ram in for service and said it was ridiculous.

can't wait to have my baby back, hopefully before Turkey day!

oh, and all i have to pay is my $100 deductible and the three gallons of gas they had to put in it from driving it. said they couldn't duplicate the problems i was having, my ***.

Sounds to me like you should have found you a different dealership a long time ago, but I'm glad things are working out...

i took it to four different dealerships before! i took it to one dealership, asked the trans guy to come outside and listen to it with me so i could point out the grinding. i started it up, put it in reverse and when it made the horrific grinding noise he got pissed off, got out and said "thats normal operating noise" and SLAMMED MY DOOR.... the service manager was no help either. not much to my surprise that dealership closed a few months later....imagine that.

like you say, i am glad things are looking up!
