Default Keyless entry question

When I am locking my 2005 Dodge ram 1500 the beep is very loud. Does anyone know how to disable the beeping function for the keyless entry?

Are you talking about the horn beeping when you lock it? If so I think you can disable it with the remote. I'd have to check the owner's manual, but I'm too lazy to go walk out in the rain right now to the truck. If you don't have a manual for some odd reason, let me know, I'll look it up.

As a side note, when I first lock it, it kind of does it at a "reduced" loudness. If I press it again, it is "full" loudness. Kinda hard to explain.

Turn the ignition to on, but don't start the truck. Hold the Unlock button for more than 2 but less than 10 seconds. While still holding that, press the Lock button. You should hear one beep (from the dash, not the horn). Take the key out and give it a try. Do the same thing again if you want to enable thisfeature again.

Are you saying to use the buttons on the remote or the buttons on the door? After the ignition is turned on.

Ok I figured it out, turn on the ignition and hold down the lock button on the fob for 4 seconds and then hold the unlock button on the fob and you will hear a chime from the dash and your done. You can also program the doors to unlock both doors on the first button press. It's the exact opposite of the above sequence. Thanks for the info!
