It was amazing the difference in noise once I changed the fluids...I went to change the front diff and transfer case. Although the noise somewhat subsided it change from, thwhine to a "grind". I carried it to a local shop. the guy had worked at the local dodge dealership for years and opened his own shop, he told me that it would need a bearing kit installed. So that is next on the agenda. I'm going out of town for a couple of weeks and will get it done when I return....I'll keep the forum updated once completed.

thanks for all the input and advice
Happy Holidays

Make sure he uses a kit with Timken bearings and you'll never have to worry about replacing them again...
