leveling key v cranking up torsion bar ride quality
just bought first ifs truck and hated how it sat lower in front so first thing i did when got home was cranked up torsion bars it moved front up 2.5 inches but rides like a tank now. havnt got the new shocks yet which im sure will help, these look like there about topped out sitting level. iv been reading a fue different threads and some say getting the leveling keys will make it ride better than havin stock cranked up??? im new to ifs so this may be dumb question but is that true? isnt the keys and cranking up the same thing. when i was lookin at the keys they look like they twist the t bars the same as turning them up so im not sure how having the key at a different angle will improve ride if it still has same amount of twist on t bar.. is there something im missing on how a new key works? is it just a way for them to sell ya something ya can do free or is there really a difference

2 1/2" inches is TOO MUCH for a torsion crank. A) you are putting the CVs at too high of an angle and B) you are putting too much torque on the torsion bar, which is why the front end is so stiff.
Bring it back down a half inch and see how it feels, if it's still too stiff come down another half.
I've cranked the bars for people and installed keys and I haven't found where one is much different than the other regarding ride quality, they both obtain lift by exerting pressure on the torsion bars...

yeah i would definitely recommend getting longer shocks. some people don't, but if you crank it 2 inch you are maxing out those stock size ones. i just cranked my stock ones 2" about a month ago and added 2 inch longer skyjaker hydro shocks in the front.
