Ram with DRL
Hey Dog, I searched thru the 02 manual plenty of times and this is about all it says about DRLs
"DAYTIME RUNNING LAMPS
Power is reduced using pulse-width modulation to
the high beams, where by the power is switched on
and off rapidly instead of remaining on continuously.
The duration and interval of the power pulses is programmed
into the Front Control Module (FCM)."
Is the FCM kind of like the TIPM for the 06s and up? I think that even in the 02's the DRLs are still part of the multiplexed CANbus systems. I've been looking into this because I'm getting some of the Spyder Headlights with the halos and LEDs along the bottom and trying to wire them up as a true DRL function.

Detroit,
What year is your truck?
that pulse you read about is what Dodge uses to initiate a lamp fail message as well, and also why HID's don't work well in a dodge without load simulating resistors or shunting capacitors.

My truck is 08 and from what i see it needs to be taken to dealer to disable drl. hid are easy to do. i did on my friends 07. Take 2 peanut bulbs and bulb sockets. wire them before low and hig hid input wires and bang it shows resistance and works good.
Detroit,
You are correct, the dealer will have to disable the DRL for you on this year of vehicle.
