ignition noise on my 2007 Hemi
I have terrible ignition noise coming from my 2007 Ram quad cab with the Hemi ..
I can hear it through my VHF fire department radio and now my stereo (aftermarket stereo and amps)
Nothing has changed and I cannot locate the noise .. I have had bad ignition noise since I bought the truck ..
I changed the plugs about 30,000 miles ago to Champion irdium plugs..
I checked all the coil packs and could not find any crack in any of them. If I take my portable VHF FIre Dept radio under the hood and open the squelch I can somewhat pinpoint it to the coilpacks ..
Are they really this bad where they emit that much ?
Anything else I can check or a better way to check for coil pack problems ? Or go with copper plugs?

You can try ferrite (sp) magnetic filters or ground loop isolating filters.
When you say after market radio, is it a Pioneer?
Take the head unit out and take a piece of wire and go from the metal chassis on the head unit to sold ground and see if it goes away.
Are you running amps also with RCA cables or just door speakers?

Yep it's a Pioneer.. I am running 2 amps also..
I have read problems with Pioneer and have grounded the RCA cable shields and the radio chassis.
When I unplug the Avic external gps unit for my stereo it goes away... I have put a ground isolator on the gps unit and it didn't help..
Should I have that much ignition noise to start with though ? I am picking it up through the antenna of my portable VHF radio from outside the truck...
