Front universal wiggle
Hey everyone I'm new to the forum!
I have an 08 ram 1500 and I noticed that going over bumps and dips in the road I would get a knocking like a ball joint or something. Checked myself and had my mechanic check it. Front end is solid as a rock. I slide back and grab the drive shaft. Clunk clink clunk. I can wiggle this thing this universal joint is bad.
What's involved in repair and cost? Anyone know?
Thanks!

Yeah, you shouldnt be able to budge it. There is a service manual download in the FAQ section. 2006 is the same as a 2008 FYI. I would think a garage would charge around $600?? I'm not sure on book time so it's a guesstimate.
Parts are around $100 total if you do it yourself, but you'll need a bunch of tools to get the job done. I'm pretty sure you need to drop the a-arm to get the cv shaft out and the u-joint i think needs to be pressed???
