05 1500 QC SLT 4x4 Hemi - 1100 miles
Okay, I have been looking at getting rid of my 04 ST Hemi QC for some time now. I thought my only opportunity to keep from getting terribly hosed would be during the EPP sale. I have spoken to several dealers and the story has been the same, great price on the new truck, but crap on trade in. So I had decided not to worry about it and just be happy with what I got.
Then I get a call. Local dealer has a used 05 with 1100 miles on it and can get me a good price. Okay I will check it out.
Here is the rundown
2005 Quad Cab 1500 SLT 4x4 Hemi
Silver with black cloth
fog lights & tow package
17" chrome wheels
1100 miles
$23,565.00
My truck
2004 Quad Cab 1500 ST
White
CD
17" plain janes
21000 miles
16000.00 (trade in)
I wil be carrying some negative equity with me and my payment will go from 380 a month to 465 a month. I thought about counter offering him 22,000.00 for his and telling him I want 17,000 for mine. Then maybe they can meet in the middle and get my payments down closer to 400 a month.
Any Ideas?????

Yes, haggle, haggle, haggle. Although be forewarned that there is no incentive on a used truck for the dealer and salesman. Used are the bread and butter money makers for most dealerships and the dealership won't let something go for a loss or for a small profit, b/c they can sell it in a few days to Joe Shmoe down the street in a week or two and make more money. The deal is about in line with what I've experienced at the dealership. $16K is about right for a plain 4.7 QC.
right now ... dealers need to deal...
get up and start to walk out... it scares them sick .
gets them to start dealing better..
i knocked $3500 off my truck.
the vehicle before my truck i traded in a Jeep Grand for a Ford Ranger and with the trade in value and the overall price i gained $5300 on the deal
