Quick Question...2006 1500 5.7 Does anybody experience a noise coming from the engine compartment that is best described as someone running water in the next room? Its been doing this since I purchased the truck 7mo. ago. It happens when the truck is cruising at anywhere from 20-40mph in 5th gear. Short bursts 2 to 4 seconds.Sounds as if something is indexing for lack of a better description. Does not occur in tow/haul mode or with the OD off. RPMs do not fluctuate at all and performance doesn't seem to be affected.

Any thoughts are appreciated.

 

I have the same year model with a semi-similar noise. Best I can figure is its the egr valve doing its thing.
