I have a 02 1500 QC 4.7 L. I'm having a little trouble changing the spark plugs. I can't get the boot off of them. I really don't want to break one because its looks like there is some module built into the top of it and probably expensive to replace. This type of system is new to me. So if there is a trick to it please let me know or point me in the right direction.

Boot?

You just have to take off the nut on the studs, and pull the coils up and out, and the spark plug is down in the hole...

 

1.unplug
2.unscrew from mmanifold
3.replace sparkplug

 

Got the new spark plugs in. Every time I tried pulling the coils out, it felt like it was going to break.

how many spark plugs in the 2002 4.7 ram? do you recomend ngk?

 

There is eight plugs,i put the bosch platinum in.Don't expect any difference in performance with any plugs cause i don't think your
going to get it.

 

Platinum just resists the effect of erosion and gapping. The others with multiple tips just use the path of least resistance. It only goes through one tip, not all of them at the same time. Whichever provides the least resistance at the time of fire.

 

on my hemi i put the bosch platinum 4+ ( the multi tip one ) so yah.. 16 sparkplugs...
