Question about air bag mounts
I actually did find a place that had the mount plates I needed, top and bottom, but that's it. Nothing else - bolts and U bolts, tubing, connectors, etc. would be another mission. Plus there wasn't any axle brackets. With all said and done I decided just to get the Firestone 2286 kit with air bags and keep the two I have for spares or whatever.
For a while I know the Firestone bags had a tendency to dry rot and fail in a couple of years. The guy I bought my kit from installed quite a few on farm trucks and stopped carrying Firestone as a result. But this was about 5-6 years ago. I think I've only read maybe one or two guys post problems with the Firestone bags in the past couple of years. But regardless, it never hurts to have spare bags...
