Default SRT8 headers on Ram

Has anyone ever done this? I know the y pipe would need to be fabricated (no biggie) but will they clear the frame? I have an 05 1500 XTNDC/SB 4x4 1500

I have a set for my 05 Magnum RT that I'm putting on. I was planning on doing shorties on the truck but then I got to looking at the SRT8 headers and started wondering if these would fit.

Anybody?

Seen a couple done on 2WD's but can't recall if any trimming was needed or which SRT vehicle it was from if that matters or not. Thinking GC but not 100%. Don't think the ports match though, no?

I can't see how headers from a 6.1 would fit a 5.7 but I don't know much. Like SLT said maybe from a Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT8 but even then I have high doubts

SRT8 headers do fit on a 5.7, they're the same engine family and you can swap parts (it's a popular swap on the LX cars, the port shape is different but it doesn't affect anything, the bolt pattern, spacing etc is the same) what I'm worried about is frame interference. Again I know I would have to fabricate a Y pipe.

Why wouldn't you use headers designed for the truck?

Are you talking headers or the factory 6.1 manifolds? One of the problems you will have is port mismatch. Old style 5.7 has mor eof a square port, while the 09 newer and 6.1 heads have more of a D shaped port. Another problem is (headers or manifolds) is that any piece designed for an LX will not fit in the Ram. What people have been doing on the 09+'s and older trucks with eagle or 6.1 heads is installing the SRT manifolds from a Grand Cherokee. They are designed a little different but apparently fit.
