hey has anyone tried putting there own bed liner in. how did it look? how easy was it?

 

I have never done this, but it sure seems easy to get under to clean a little bit once they are in. I would imagine 2-3 people it would slide right in, but would probably no attempt it alone.

My drop-in came with from the factory and I guess I like it well enough for what it is.

If I was to get something aftermarket, I think I'd go spray-in. I don't like the idea of the drop ins rubbing on the bed. Do a search in here---there was a thread a few weeks ago about which spray-in guys liked best if you decide to go that way. Seemed like a few more guys liked the Line-X over Rhino as I remember.

 

I put in a herculiner bed liner this spring. It was fairly straight forward and took me about 8 hours of work start to finish. Here is a link to some pics If I had to do it again I would use two gallons vs. one gallon for my 6ft bed. The one gallon is just not think enough and the herculiner shrinks over time. I will admit that Herculiner is not as tough as other professional liners (Line-X, Rhinoliner, etc). I don't care since I only use it for yard work (trees, trash, rocks, etc) and haven't had any problems. Any scratches I do get can be covered with black paint or with more herculiner ($30 per quart for touch up). Considering I saved about $300-400 I'm very happy.

I had a Reflex spray in liner done a week or so back, then I decided to order the rubber bed mat and tailgate protector for extra protection, cost like 75 bucks for both of them and they are easy as pie to put in, did it myself and I have a bad back.
