Default rear door window falling

a few weeks ago it was snowy/icy out and when trying to put my rear door window down, it was making a loud cracking sound so i stopped messing with it. after the ice was all gone and it was warmer out i tried again. the motor sounds to be working but the window won't move. and it has been falling down a bit by itself whenever it sits or the door is open/closed. i can manually push it back up but it won't stay.

i plan on taking the door panel off soon and taking a look at it, but does anyone know what the problem might be? can it be as simple as the window just being off track?

its an 03 4.7 4x4 quad with about 99k miles.

It might be a track issue. my old crown vic had a problem with the power windows not going all the way up and staying up and that turned out to be just the motors.

i checked it out this weekend. it was in the side tracks, but it wasn't locked into the two clips on the metal arm at the bottom. i was able to use it normally afterwords.

i was able to fix it, but the next day it started falling again. could it be a bad motor if it keeps falling?

I hope someone else chimes in. I don't have much experience here, I haven't had to work on the Ram's power windows yet, although my much slower front passenger window bugs the hell out of me. I'm not sure if it's a bad motor or a bad regulator...
