Default Fan Clutch (Welcome Back Nascar for 2012)

2002 ram 1500 4.7 I see there is 3 kind of Fan Clutches out there Standard, Heavy Duty and Severe duty.
I need to replace mine and was wondering if the standard duty is fine for this truck. Does anyone now what brand Dodge use for OEM. I really don't want to pay dealer prices. Thanks for looking

Flex-A-Lite 183, man! To answer the question, I imagine Dodge used several brands. Check RockAuto.com

I checked rock auto and see they have only Heavy Duty in Hayden brand. I have read heavy duty takes away some power but I am not sure if I can go with Standard duty. Not going electric even though it would probably be better.

Electric is the way to go which is why most of your newer rides have them as standard now. My dads Chevy has them. Newer Dodges do also. Either way, Rockauto wont steer you wrong. You can also google "Advance Auto discounts" and find codes to help save money when ordering online at Advance and then go to the store to pick it up

I put a standard clutch on my 02 4.7 and havent came even close to issues. Even towing 2500 lbs in August in south louisiana, everything was as cool as a cucumber.
