heat issue
Air has been blowing cool in my truck and last week my radiator cracked. Gurgling noise inside in dash as well... I replaced the radiator, flushed the coolant system using my air compressor to blow out all the sludge.
My heat seemed to be hotter and no gurgling noise inside, but now it's getting cold again, the gurgling noise is now back and i keep losing coolant(i have to add a little coolant about once every week) I see no leaks under the truck, so I don't know where it's going.
I've also replaced my thermostat thinking that was it, but still no heat. The bottom radiator hose feels cold as well and I don't think it's supposed to be.
My temp reads right at the half mark and it usually stays below that half mark... hmm.
Any ideas?

You may have a small leak from the heater core. check inside your truck by the glove box area for any moisture or wet spots. Not sure if all of the Rams are setup the same way but on mine the lower hose brings coolant from the radiator into the water pump, so that one should be kind of on the cooler side, it's the upper hose that brings the hot coolant past the thermostat into the radiator, that one gets pretty hot. My 5.9 has the T-stat sitting on the block inside the upper hose, but I think some of the other engines have them on the lower hose, so I'm not sure if those have the flow of coolant going the other way as well or not.
if you are getting a gurgling noise from under the dash, this is a sign of low coolant or air in the system. If you are adding coolant but dont see it you are burning it out the exhaust or leaking it somewhere. like caseys dodge said, check carpet for wet, maybe pull back carpet also at firewall too, to see it insulation is wet. if coolant is low you will loose heat and it can blow cool
have gotten the air of the system multiple times and try to keep the coolant topped off, but i keep losing coolant somewhere. The air keeps getting back in somehow and sounds more like a water sloshing/trickling noise now. This noise happens when i first accelerate from a stop, but then goes away while cruising until I stop and go again..
I also smell antifreeze strongly when turning on the heat. If, by some chance, there is no wet spots under mat or anything, where is my coolant going and why am I smelling it very strongly when I turn my heat on?
