4.7 vs 5.7
Thanks for all the feed back already own the hemi just curious if it was as susceptible to over heats .
I bought a 180 tstat but sent it back after reading that this could shorten not lengthen life of hemi just like my optimax needs to run at a certain temp to keep heat transference at optimal .
I tow 18 bass boat not sure how heavy but when it's hot that's when I'm towing the most any recommendation how to avoid any overheats

I towed a 20' Javelin bass boat for years. Bass boats are light and don't catch any air, I know you're under 3000 lbs. Even gassed up and loaded with gear. You should have no problem pulling it in heat. If you have the tow kit then you have a granny cooler. You'll be fine with normal maintenance.
Yeah I'm under 3500 for sure only 1 3500 lbs axle on trailer but I keep a lot of crap on board.
My other truck is 94 Chevy z71 180 stat and a huge radiator I could pull boat in the desert 150 deg not go over 1/4 way but it's got 220,000. And the new to me dodge rides awesome plus qc has more room

I pulled my Javelin on a couple of vacations, 6+ hours each way with my ex's '02 Grand Cherokee, 4.7 unibody framed 4x4 and it never even hinted at overheating. My Ram with a 180* thermostat and efan never got anywhere close to the half mark on temp and I pulled it all over south Georgia in 90*+ heat all the time.
Hell, I fished a tourney on Lake Sinclair in like '05 when it was over 100* every day. **** poor tournament, my surface temp gauge showed the water temp was 92*, you didn't get the early morning bite, you got bupkis...
