Thumbs down spark plug question

ok the dodge is running fine but loosing power and serious gas mileage loss and of corse dodge uses an odd plug in this that none of the 5 auto parts stores in town carry it so i had to get it at dodge to the tune of 48.00 for them.. SO my question is do they look bad? one new one used in picture below, the old ones are gaped at 40 like the book says and the new one is gaped at 35 thats the only difference i see, i pulled a 14' V nose new utility trailer home the other day and at 1200 pounds it about killed the truck, yes its uphill alot around here but man its bad on power and worse on gas, i got 8.6 mpg coming home .... thanks

PS: it runs and idles fine

36k on a set of plugs isn't bad but I don't know the maintenance schedule of the 4.7.

Are you up to date on the rest of your maintenance/tune ups?

th book says 30,000 for the plugs (but i hate to throw away good parts if they arent needed now)

i dont know about the rest of the service as we just got the truck a few months ago. ive done the air filter and oil changes but thats it other than some injector cleaner in the tank, il have to try to look in the book and see what else it needs at this milage.... but something is bad because it has no power when pulling even a small trailer the milage drops to 8.6 mpg

Wow really?! Cause I work at a dealer and ive never seen Bosch plugs. Only champions. If u look under the hood it should have a part# for the plugs on the emissions tag. And if the gap calls for .40 I would go with that.

What is the rear gear ratio??, if you are running 3.55's and towing, there's your problem----Try shifting to a lower gear, and let the cruise take over the interstate.
