Question Why are my front Bilsteins squeaking?

I've got the most annoying squeak coming from my front end. I'm pretty sure it's coming from the front shocks...it happens when I hit small, sharp bumps in the road. I get nothing when I pull into the driveway with a little speed.

I'll try to explain this the best I can what I think it is, but I may have to post some pics later.

It appears to me outside of the piston is rubbing on the edge of the bottom of top mount (how's that for confusing). I've tried spraying some white lithium grease up there, which works for 1-2 days, then the squeaking is back. I had a smaller shop install these so I'm wondering if something is not installed quite right.

If it's not the shock...could it be a bushing that needs replaced?

I had my step-dad, who's a mechanic at a Dodge dealership, and he said the top of the piston where it runs up into the top mount, is offset a little causing it rub.

Has anyone else had a problem with this?

He doesn't think it's hurting anything, so I haven't decided if I'm gonna fix it or not.

I don't think it's hurting anything either, but man does it get annoying when the windows are down.

I'm starting to think they forgot a bushing on top when they installed them, which is causing the top of the shock to be offset in the top mount.
