differential protector

Default differential protector

hey guys quick question.... the guard that protects my differential on my 2005 dodge ram 1500 makes this annoying banging noise when i hit slight bumps in the road. i dont want to take it off.... so i was wondering if anyone else has this problem and potatial resolutions. any help or suggestions will be greatly appreciated

Hope it isn't clutch pack retaining clips bouncing around destroying your diff. You can check your bolts, but I'd they're tight, then you will have to remove the cover and hope for the best.

Even if the clips are off, you wouldn't hear them "bouncing" in the fluid. They likely won't bounce at all.

I guess my question is "What guard?" Mine has no shield for the diff.
