throttle body spacer
I have just bought a new 1500 4.7 CQ p/u. I have read about a throttbe body spacer. I am planning on adding on a cold air kit, and flowmaster exhaust. Tthe throttle body spacer bothers me a bit me. I need to know if it will affect manufacturer's warranty. Dodge service already assures me the cold air kit is ok. But, they hesitate about the tthrottle body spacer. If anyone is willing to volunteerinfo, it will be appreciated. I'm new at this. This is my first Dodge truck. I've aways driven or a Lincoln, or Caddy. I used to keep classics (65's & 66"s T'Birds) before I retired. Got tired of the conventional lifestyle and bought this truck. Love it. Also need some tips if anyone is so inclined on the model of Flowmaster. There are a lot of different ones. How to choose. Definately don't want to chose by which is the loudest. Regarding MPG. I'm getting 19.5 on the highway. 15-16.5 in town. The truck is still the way it came off the showroom floor.
All new magnum engines are direct fuel injected into the cylindar. TBS will have no affect on these engines because the fuel in not being delivered to the throttle body were it would need to be atomized and mixed better with air for more performance.
Hmm where to start. First of all i thought you only geting 19.5 on the highway is really low, with my hemi i get 22-23. But of course you beat me in town. Um the best for gas milage i couldn't help you with, i know whats loud and louder though. And depending how deep your pocket is, can help depend what exhuast to get. I too was looking into getting a tbs. I hear they increase gas milage, and there good, but majority of people will tell you there just not worth the 80 bucks. And they say theres a real annoying whisle sound it makes too. I hope i have been some help and someone else can answer your warrenty question.
Pure, unadulterated HOKEM! Just say NO!!![:'(]
With the incredible pressures, legislative and social, on manufacturers to maximize all performance parameters, if it were really possible for a simple piece of plastic or aluminum to make a significant difference, you think they wouldn't already be doing it? However, because people constantly want "something for (nearly) nothing," there are those who will take advantage and give them, instead, "nothing for something."
All the best.
