Default Leveling kit vs. Lift

I plan on putting 35 inch tires on my truck, currently it's stock. I am debating just putting a leveling kit on, or a 3 inch lift. Does anyone have 35's with just a leveling kit? Any pictures? My truck is a 4x4 Ram 1500 with AWD. It has the stock 20 inch rims atm, ill be downgrading to 17 inch rims. Thanks for the help and input in advance!

Just crank your torsion bars if you don't want the lift... You could do it right now to see if you like it, and buy the leveling keys later. Just do a search on leveled trucks, you'll find what you're looking for eventually, like so:

Not the same type of level kit, but same look...

Yeah i've cranked the torsion keys to level it out a bit. I am just looking for the best, and cheapest possible solution to get 35s to fit, without it rubbing, and without it filling the entire wheel-well. Your truck is very nice and is about what im going for, but with 35's instead of 37s.

At one point there were NO suspension lifts available for the AWD models, dunno if this is still the case. You may be limited to a body lift/level combo...

Thanks a lot for this information, I didnt realize it would matter. I did some research after you told me this and I found that you can use lifts on it, but its not advisable as it causes greater wear, and some had a shaking issue, some didnt. I think im going to stick with a leveling kit. I was looking at this: http://www.ebay.com/itm/LIFT-KIT-FOR...item2ebce64a5f

What does he mean by 3.5 axle tube only? Thanks in advance.

If you are contemplating a leveling kit, then just crank the stock torsion keys 2" for free, get an alignment and call it a day...

Thanks, got it from a mail order site here in Canada, you could get it cheaper somewhere in the states for sure... Not gonna get the Skyjacker kit for a grand though, more like 2000, and as far as I know it's the only kit that will let you clear 37s by itself...

Yep, only kit I know of that gives a TRUE 6" on an IFS, torsion front Ram is the Skyjacker and it's around $2300 and one of only two kits that I know of that uses a full sub-frame as opposed to just a crossmember.
All the other so-called 6" kits lift anywhere from 4.5-5.0" and require you to crank the torsion keys to achieve 6" which puts a LOT of strain on the CV joints.

You wanna do it "right", it's gonna cost you a lot more than $1000...

Is the CV joint issue just a Dodge thing? I've heard this a few times from other sites. I have a friend who has a duramax and he cranked his torsion keys all the way up since he bought it used in 2003 and as far as I know hes never had an issue, also he drives his truck real hard, much harder than I would ever drive my truck - Like 50 mph through fields lol and he muds.
