I have a 2002 1500 4x4, 5.9. Last week it started slipping when you would put it into reverse. If you reved the engine a little it would start to move. A friend said the bands needed to be adjusted. So I let him and now it wont go itno reverse at all. I'm not much of a mechanic, but pretty handy, is there anyway for me to readjust the bands or is it major shop time. Thanks for any help you can give guys.

 

I know there are alot of sites with info on proper band adjustment.

When I had the same problem on my 02 I found a ton of them, then I found I had the 45rfe without the bands.

Follow the proper proceedure and you may be good.
