2007 Dodge Ram 1500, 3.7 2wd, manual trans. When shifting gears, the engine races. I push in the clutch completely and release the throttle completely, at the same time, like you would when driving any other manual vehicle. When doing so, the engine revs up 200-300 rpm and stays there for about a second, then it takes about 5 seconds to go back down to idle...

Obviously this does not make for a smooth ride.

I have not had this problem with my past Rams.

Any ideas?
