Default '05 Hemi Spark Plugs and Intake Cleaning

Looking to this on the up coming weekend. General Consensus says Champion 570's are the best bet and cheapest to go with? So I will pick those up.

Sounds like if you take the Hemi hat off you can get at them fairly easily with a few extensions and such. I need to know what Torque value they should be set to? I have read 13 Ft-Lbs, is that true?

Also, for the Throttle Body Cleaning, can I remove it right off the truck, unplugging all the wires and all? Should I disconnect the entire battery first?

I have read you should use compressed brake cleaner and not throttle body cleaner, taking care not to spray in to the electronics portion holding it up right. However you can open up the butterfly valve carefully to get in and clean it?

I believe its 13-15ft lbs. Anti-seize the plug threads and die-electric grease the plug boots. depending on the mileage you may want to do plug wires, and boots and springs on the coil paks. I clean my throttle body on the truck with non chorinated brake cleaner. Sea foam when everthing is back together, suck so sea foam thru the throttle body to clean the intake. Good luck let us know how it goes!!

What Anti-Sieze should I get, I honestly have never used any. Also what dielectric grease?

And do I need to Seafoam it? I've never done it, and never really though it be needed, also not sure how.

I use they anti-seize in a squeeze tube same with die-electric grease. Sea foam is good to clean the throttle body. if it never been done. You will see how nasty the butterfly is when you pull off the intake tube. Do a search there should be more info on the benifits of cleaning the throttle body. and definatly use 570 champion plugs.

Use non-chlorinated brake cleaner. 570s are that I have. I always put my plugs in just snug and then 1/4-1/2 turn

Yeah I planned to clean the throttle body just by removing it completely from the truck an using brake cleaner. Do I need to disconnect the battery first? And is it ok to completely unhook it and push the butterfly valve open?

No need to pull the batt cable. Just take out the 4 10mm screws that hold it in place as well as the electrical connector. you can move the butterfly plate but just dont hold it open and let go and let it slam closed. Use an old toothbrush for faster cleaning
