Default Codes PO700 and PO841

Just wanted to share my issue. I had gotten a check engine light this past week and came home, pulled the codes and they were PO700, and PO841. I did some searching and couldn't find much info on the outcome others had with these two codes. I changed the filters and fluid yesterday, deleted the codes and drove it a couple of times today. So far so good, no CEL and it is shifting better than ever. The previous owner had told me that all fluids had just been replaced, t-case, transmission, both axles when I bought it. I know the front and rear diff's and t-case were done as it was obvious the front and rear covers had new RTV around them and I replaced the non-working t-case. I have to admit though the filters were origional looking and the fluid looked like it was origional as well. Just thought I would post my results for others with these codes in the future. I did forget to put the magnet back in the pan, saw it just after I had all the bolts torqued. I plan to swap the fluid again very soon for good measure though and will replace the magnet then.

according to obd-codes.com:
-- P0700 is a general transmission trouble code.
-- P0841 is Trans pressure sensor/switch 'A' circuit range/performance code.

Was the fluid low before so that you might have had low pressure?

You mentioned not being able to find much on the code before, don't know if it was a typo, but you have the code written in the heading as Papa-Oscar-seven-zero-zero and Papa-Oscar-eight-four-one, these codes are Papa-zero-seven-zero-zero and Papa-zero-eight-four-one. Might just be a typo but thought to check... And there is little to nothing on the code P0700 other than it means that you often need to read the codes in transmission control module (TCM) which most mortals do not have access to.

Sorry about the way I put the codes, you are correct as it should be P0700 and P0841. The fluid level was fine when the engine light came on. Looking at the fluid on the dipstick it looked decent, but after draining it into a pan it was nasty looking. There were no visible metal particles in it though, which made me feel better. I assume the filters were the biggest issue as the one is for the return line, if it was partially clogged I could see it having an affect on pressure.
