Default Serious problem but no CEL

About 3 weeks ago I had a misfire in one of my cylinders. It caused the truck to run rough, shaking at idle, bouncing going down the road. The problem was 2 of my spark plugs were smashed in one of my cylinders. Took it in and got it fixed and it ran perfect. Today the same thing happened. Running rough, shaking at idle and when I give it gas the truck sorta bucks and jumps. My CEL light wont come on so I cant get a code from my truck. Any suggestions?

If the plugs were smashed, something smashed them. You may have a couple of broken or weakened valve springs - VERY common on the '03 Hemi, enough so that Chrysler went to stronger springs starting in '04...

^true that!

We have plenty of threads from 03s and some 04s that ended up with broken valve springs and either ran rough due to the valve open or dropped a valve and ruined the engine. New (16 exh) 6.1 valve springs and push rods are under $100. I just so happen to have a valve tool if you need one. They are needed to change the springs unless you want to pull the heads

It turned out to be the spark plugs again.
