Default Advice Please

I have been dealing with my clanking noise with my truck for sometime now. You can read my other threads on it. Well I finally got the funds and the rocker arms and lifters are in the mail.

My question is I found a long block 2003 4.7 that was rebuilt new manufactered heads on it. And he is willing to trade my canapoy for the new heads if I do need them

The canapoy has bed rug in it.

Just trying to get some advice Im not sure if it would be a good deal or not.

Depends on what your cap is worth to you. If you don't need it or really make use of it, then why not?

I was just quoted $380 by a very reputable shop to rebuild both heads on my 4.7 HO. I decided since I dropped a valve seat in one cylinder and I'm going through the process of pulling the heads that I just needed to swell up and do both (the engine is currently out of it which REALLY made getting the heads out a lot easier).
So you can always have yours rebuilt for around what I was quoted...

Wow that is very cheap. I am over that already in parts lol. 260 for rockers and 82 for lifters and another 40 for gaskets.

I might just call around and see what prices i can get. But I would rather do the work myself.

And my canapoy I like it but does make it hard for my wife to drive sense she really cant judge distance that well lol. And it is nice to have it when I need it.
